An Open Invitation to Everyone!

The Phoenix Bahá’í community is a service-minded community dedicated to improving the lives of all. Our mission, and the fundamental objective of the Bahá’í Faith, is to appreciate the beauty of our differences while establishing the oneness of humanity and the equality of all races, religions and peoples from whatever background, creed, culture or nation.

Bahá’ís are in a constant state of learning to advance the spiritualization of humanity. We are involved in and invite others to participate in devotional meetings, study groups (also known as study circles), children’s classes and junior youth spiritual empowerment groups. We are building spiritual communities that serve the needs of the neighborhood, the city, the state, the country and the world.

Devotional meetings

A simple and uncomplicated gathering of friends, family, neighbors and co-workers from all backgrounds. They provide a quiet space to gather and offer prayers for whatever particular needs or challenges that we face. Its purpose is to connect hearts in seeking guidance and assistance of the Divine Creator. Devotional meetings can include prayer and Scriptures from all faiths and religions and often includes the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh  – the Founder of the Bahá’í Faith. It’s a place to develop friendships, strengthen bonds of unity and offer support and assistance to one another.

Study Circles

Small study groups on topics such as understanding the spiritual life, prayer, life and death, etc.,  This sequence of courses  is organized around finding spiritual and practical solutions for day-to-day, real-life issues that we encounter.  Everyone is encouraged to be part of the conversation seeking answers to whatever we – as individuals, or collectively – are striving to deal with to make our lives, the lives of children and families and the health and well-being of our community a better place in which to live. An extension of these study circles is providing service to others.

Children’s Classes

Classes focus on assisting grade school children to expand their desire to live a spiritual life by providing a well-rounded spiritual education. They become centers of attraction and strengthen the foundation of all religions and of society. Children become centers of attraction by learning spiritual and practical approaches to life for the betterment of the community and society. These classes place great emphasis on the development of spiritual qualities and on those beliefs, habits and patterns of conduct that constitute the essential attributes of a spiritual being. Children’s classes include the creative use of the arts, music and memorization of spiritual values and views towards life.

Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program

Also known as the junior youth group, assists young teenagers to navigate through a crucial stage of their lives and to become empowered to direct their energies toward the advance of civilization. They are guided to create spiritual neighborhoods within a city. In this setting, young people discuss ideas to form a strong moral identity. Through a series of courses and service projects, these young people learn to develop language skills and the power of expression, to address mathematical concepts and social issues, and to prepare them to approach the physical, social and spiritual reality in a scientific and spiritual manner.  The junior youth spiritual empowerment program helps these young and tenders souls to develop qualities that will enable them to lead – to guide the actions, attitudes and behaviors of their peers as they approach adulthood and become our future.
